Excluding Specific Files or File Categories

Advanced users are provided with the ability to exclude specific files or file categories from the file search process. In general, all types of file matching rules provide positive operators, intended to positively match files, and negative operators, intended to exclude specific files or categories of files from file search results.

For example, let's assume that the user needs to search files by name, but exclude all pictures and image files from search results. In this case, the user needs to add a file name rule and a file category rule with the 'Not Related To' operator, which will exclude all types of images and pictures from search results.

Similarly, in order to exclude all system and hidden files from search results, add a rule to match files by file attributes, select the 'Exclude' operator and select the file attributes that should be excluded.
